The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid Of AnythingWhen my oldest two girls were little, I would take them to different storytimes around the city. I remember well, the day we went to Borders Bookstore for storytime, back when there was a Borders Bookstore. My littles settled in to hear stories read by the wonderful storyteller about fall and Halloween. When she pulled out The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams and started to read the story, my daughters became entranced. Like many storytellers, she used a variety of voices and sound effects to accent her story, but she added a little something more... intrigue and enthusiasm. My girls LOVED the sound effects of the book and the repetition. They loved that they could engage and were encouraged to join in the storytelling by making the sound effects, as well.. Now, many years later, October can not end in our house until we have read this little book through from beginning to end at least a half dozen times.
