FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2015Fire Prevention Week for 2015 began October 4th and runs through October 10th. Each year, The National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) selects a "key message". For 2015, the key message is about the importance of smoke alarm location. More than half of all fire deaths occur during sleeping hours, while only about 20% of home fire actually occur during those hours, so it is extremely important that all homes have a working smoke alarm in each bedroom. If you are unsure of the steps necessary to install a smoke alarm, visit this site for details on the proper installation and maintennance of smoke alarms. Smoke alarms cut the risk of death in a house fire in HALF!
