Gaining control of emotions is a skill that young children are learning. One way to promote this control is through fun breathing exercises. I have included 2 Conscious Discipline breathing activities to use with your children. First just practice these with your children as a fun game. Then when they become upset, you can encourage them to use these techniques. This is also something useful for parents to remember; deep breathing can be calming for adults too.
