ALL babies go through it, but the severity varies from infant to infant. From about 2 weeks of age through 3-4 months, all babies experience a Period of PURPLE Crying (you may think of it and refer to it as colic). In this video, Dr. Ronald Barr explains the Period of PURPLE Program. Although some babies cry a lot more than others, there is NOTHING wrong with your baby if they exhibit the symptoms above during this stage of development. This Period can be particularly difficult for dads! So often, dads feels the need to "fix" the problem, and this is one of those "problems" that you just can't fix. Sometimes, a parent or caregiver's frustration with a baby's crying can lead to Shaken Baby Syndrome or SBS. During a study by Dr. Barr, it was discovered that there appears to be a possible correlation between the incidence of SBS and the Period of PURPLE crying. Whatever you do...
