Have You Heard about Conscious Discipline? Conscious Discipline is an emotional intelligence program to help you and your child to respond from the higher center of the brain instead of react from the lower center in conflict and situations. It is a relationship based model. In a traditional model we think we can make children mind or we can make someone do something. We all know that doesn't really work. So what is possible? It is possible to change ourselves. Traditional discipline relies on rules to make a behavior go away. Conscious discipline says that the foundation is about our relationship with others and a willingness to solve conflict. Relationships give us the willingness to solve conflict. In traditional discipline conflict is bad and we try to get rid of that. Sometimes we avoid conflict or we bribe our kids. Conscious discipline helps you perceive conflict as an opportunity for growth. It helps you see conflict as a missing social and emotional skill that you can build upon to have successful relationships. We learn to think and reflect on the best decisions for us. For more resources please go to www.consciousdiscipline.com. Let us know! Have you tried any of the Conscious Discipline strategies? How have they worked for you? What is difficult for you?
